Stolen Vehicle Chase In Cabarrus County Ends In Deputy Involved Shooting
CONCORD, NC — Officials are investigating after a chase with a suspect in Cabarrus County ends in a deputy involved shooting.
The incident started Thursday morning at the Metrolina Greenhouse on Huntersville-Concord Road. Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Deputies spotted a red Chevy S-10 that matched the description of a stolen vehicle. After running plates they confirmed the vehicle was stolen.
Officials chased the suspect up to the intersection of Poplar Tent and Odell School Road before he blew a tire and crashed. The suspect damaged three deputy vehicles during the chase.
Shots were fired. No word yet on who was involved in the shooting, but the suspect was hit and taken to CMC Northeast.
SBI investigators are on the scene.
