1. Sorry kids, but summer time is over! Charlotte Mecklenburg Students will be back in the classroom Monday. You might need to add some extra time in your drive to and from work. CMPD Officers will also be out and about, making sure drivers are staying safe in school zones as we get back into the routine.
2. We could start seeing emails from Hillary Clinton’s private email server during her time as Secretary of State as soon as September. A federal judge ordered the emails related to the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi to be released no later than Sept. 13.
3. A killer is on the loose, after Mississippi police said they found two nuns stabbed to death in their home they shared. Investigators said Sister Paula Merrill and Sister Margaret Held were killed after an apparent break-in. There are no details on a possible suspect yet. Police said their car was taken, and found undamaged barely a mile from their home.
4. Apple is issuing security updates after powerful espionage software was found targeting an activist’s iPhone in the Middle East. The spyware takes complete control of an iPhone with the tap of a finger. Apple said in a statement that it fixed the problem immediately after learning about it, and are asking iPhone users to update their phones.
