NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is calling Colin Kaepernick’s decision to sit during the National Anthem highly patriotic, and something that should make all Americans proud.

Abdul-Jabbar wrote an op-ed piece for the Washington Post praising Kaepernick’s protest against racial injustice.

He said the quarterback’s stance is truly patriotic, because it involves personal risk in his football career.
