Father Who Left Child in Car at Lowe’s Turns Himself In
SALISBURY, N.C. — Police have charged a China Grove man after they say he left his child alone in the car in the parking lot of Lowes Home Improvement.
Officers say they were called to the store on Faith Road on Sunday. When they arrived, store employees had already removed the child from the vehicle. Authorities say the child was in good condition and not hurt. 31-year-old Aaron Ferguson told authorities he forgot the child was in the car when he ran in the store.
The mother of the child arrived a short time later and told officers she was in another store and had left the child with the father.
Ferguson is charged with misdemeanor child abuse. The Department of Social Services is investigating.
