Cam Newton Launches Food Truck

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is taking on  a new project. During the MVP’s interview with WCCB NEWS @ TEN anchor Morgan Fogarty, he announced his new food truck, called “Smokn’ Aces.”

Cam, a pescatarian, said the truck’s menu will feature, “Fish. Obviously. Chicken.” He says, “It’ll be across the street from the Duke Energy building. And it’s over there right now getting painted.”

Smokn’ Aces will roll out for the first time on September 18th, the day of the Panthers’ first home game against the San Francisco 49ers. Cam says after that, it’ll be out on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Fogarty asked if the profits would benefit the Cam Newton Foundation. He said no, and that he wants the money to benefit another non-profit. “100 percent of the proceeds are going…to an at risk program in Charlotte. So, I’m up here talking about doing different things, people making that step, and that’s what I’m doing.”

Fogarty asked him why a food truck? He replied, “I wanted to be closer to people and to have a chance to be around more people. ” She asked, “You’ll be out there sometimes, in the truck?” He said, “Not in the truck. Imma be eating. Smokn’ Aces!”
