Bank Robbery Causes School To Go On Lockdown

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A bank robbery that happened Tuesday morning caused a local elementary school to be placed on lockdown.

Investigators say the SunTrust Bank on S. Sharon Amity Road was robbed just after 9am.  K9 units and the aviation team were in the area searching for the suspect.

The school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.  No injuries were reported during the robbery.
