CMPD Looks To Ease Concerns Over Events At Northlake Mall

CHARLOTTE, NC– CMPD is working to ease community concerns after a shooting outside the Northlake Mall.

The Police Department held a news conference today to discuss the Labor Day event that sent shoppers inside running for cover.

Captain Ryan Butler says the violence is not connected to any previous incidents at the mall, especially the fatal Christmas eve shooting.

“Anytime you go to a public place and you allow people in there’s an opportunity for an incident to occur. It could have happened at a bus station, at a parking lot a furniture store.”
