Victim Identified In South Charlotte Homicide

Police have identified the man killed at an Econo Lodge Monday as 40-year-old Louis Fuqua.

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD is looking for suspects after a man was shot and killed in south Charlotte overnight.

Police say a man was shot on Clanton Road near South Tryon Street around 11:45pm Monday. Medic pronounced him dead on the scene.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.

Detectives are searching for witnesses to the shooting, and say the investigation is in the early stages. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
