Dozens Of Ducks Found Dead In Indian Trail
INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. —Β Officials believe Botulism has killed dozens of ducks in Indian Trail. Β Forty-eight ducks have already died and several others are being treated at Carolina Waterfowl Rescue.
All the ducks were discovered at the same private property pond. Β Volunteers went out and captured other ducks on the pond in hopes of rescuing them.
Preliminary results from the lab show the ducks died from Botulism, which is a rare and potentially fatal illness caused by a toxin. Β It is usually spread through contaminated food or water.
