Artists Paint Damaged Buildings

CHARLOTTE, NC– Buildings damaged in last week when the Uptown protests turned violent are providing a canvass for local artists.

The manager of the Hyatt House Hotel sent out a message on social media asking artists to come and paint the hotel’s boarded up windows.
Artists have travelled from around the state and are using this as a chance to spread a message of peace and unity.

“People are getting inspired, they are taking pictures they want to show that they are part of a change or, they say a change, but I’m saying minds opening,” said Myrtle Beach resident Daman Abrams.

The Hyatt House plans to replace the windows after officials end the state of emergency, but plan to preserve the artwork.
