Local Teen Creates Art Sale for Homeless Pets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – ART Unleashed is the creation of 17-year-old Mia Kosarek of Charlotte. She was 16 when she decided to organize an art sale to benefit local animal charities. She says the desire to help hit home when she adopted her rescue pup, Peanut, and saw firsthand the number of homeless pets in our area.

ART Unleashed raised more than $20,000 in its first year. Kosarek says the goal for this year is to top that number. 52 artists have donated everything from paintings, to photography, to pottery, to jewelry, to more, to the sale. Attendees can also make cash donations to Hershey the Donation Dog, who will be at the event, collecting money in his doggie vest.

WCCB Charlotte’s Morgan Fogarty will emcee the event for the second year. Morgan, Mia, the artists and the animals look forward to seeing you there!
