Man Arrested For Trafficking Cocaine Out Of Indian Land Auto Shop

INDIAN LAND, S.C. — Investigators say a man was arrested for trafficking cocaine out of his auto shop in Indian Land.

Alex Vincent Soto-Godinez, 36, of Pineville, has been charged with trafficking cocaine.

Detectives say Soto-Godinez operates Alex’s Auto Care on Fort Mill Highway in Indian Land.  Task Force agents received information that illegal drugs were present at the business.

Surveillance was established at approximately 7am Wednesday morning.  Agents say Soto-Godinez arrived at the shop driving a Honda Odyssey van.  A K9 unit alerted on the van and detectives were able to obtain a search warrant for the van and the business.

Agents say they found 1.6 kilos of cocaine, a little more than 2.5 pounds of marijuana and $3,651 inside the business.

Agents also say they found 12 packages of compressed cocaine inside the van.  That cocaine weighed approximately 12 kilos, according to a news release.

The street value of 13.5 kilos of cocaine is well in excess of a million dollars, according to investigators.
