Humane Society Rescues Dogs From Puppy Mill
CHARLOTTE, NC– Tonight, 18 of the 150 animals rescued from a suspected puppy mill in Cabarrus County are being cared for here in Charlotte.
The Humane Society picked up the yorkies and poodles today. They range from eight weeks to 10 years old.
Many have severe dental and skin problems. They also have emotional problems because they’ve been in cages their entire lives.
“A lot of these dogs have lived in cages all their lives really have not stepped outside and the human interaction with them has been very limited. So we are going to be working with them just to identify what are there needs,” said Jorge Ortega.
These dogs will not be ready for adoption for at least a week.
