Officials Release Name Of Student Accused Of Bringing Gun To Rocky River High School

MINT HILL, N.C. — Officials released the name of the student accused of bringing a gun to Rocky River High School on Thursday.  Students reportedly told the school resource officer that Dominique Daniels may be in possession of a gun.

Dominique DanielsThe school was immediately placed on lockdown.  The officer saw Daniels standing in the hallway in front of the main office but he is accused of running away when the officer approached.  Daniels was taken into custody after a short foot chase.

After searching the area, police say they found a small caliber handgun which was thrown on top of a large dirt mound.

Officials say students and staff are safe.  Daniels who was in possession of the weapon will be disciplined according to the code of student conduct and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to a news release.
