NC Governor And Emergency Management Officials Update On State Preparations

RALEIGH, NC — Governor Pat McCrory and officials with N.C. Emergency Management give an update on preparations happening throughout the state ahead of Hurricane Matthew’s arrival.

“There is still a great deal of uncertainty in the forecast models and we remain prepared to respond if Matthew changes course again,” said Governor McCrory. “If the storm continues on its current track, we stand by ready to provide assistance, including swift water rescue boats and air support, for our neighbors in South Carolina and Georgia as needed.”

Governor McCrory said in his statements that there are currently no evacuations issued or planned for the eastern portion of North Carolina. Officials do still warn that flooding in those areas remain a possibility.
