Charlotte Motor Speedway Prepares To Go Ahead With Race
CHARLOTTE, NC– NASCAR officials are closely monitoring the track of Hurricane Matthew and the impact it could have ahead of Saturday night’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Right now, the Bank of America 500 will go on as scheduled, but the threat of the storm still looms.
Charlotte Motor Speedway says with the event bringing in thousands, its main goal is to prepare to race on the day that is planned.
“We’re expecting those people here on saturday night and we know that they have put a lot of time and energy and resource and effort into being here at a particular time,” said Scott Cooper of the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Charlotte Motor Speedway has 12 jets dryers ready that can take the track from wet to race ready in just 90 minutes.
