CMPD Looking To Identify More Suspects From Charlotte Riots
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in the Charlotte riots that closed down part of I-85 in northeast Charlotte.
Officials are also asking the owner’s of the tractor-trailers that were broken into to come forward.
Investigators say several trucks were illegally entered during the riots that broke out after the fatal officer-involved shooting of Keith Lamont Scott on September 20th.
The trucks were on I-85 near the Harris Boulevard exit when a large group of protesters blocked traffic on the road.
Police believe one of the trucks may have belonged to “Performance Food Group” as indicated by the markings on the trailer. Police also say one of the three vehicles appears to be a large commercial box truck that may have been empty when the suspects entered.
Anyone with information on the suspects or the owner’s of the trucks is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
