Lincoln County Deputies Seize Meth, Pills, & A Gun, 5 Arrested
LINCOLNTON, NC — Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Narcs say they have arrested five people after seizing meth, pills, and a gun.
Officials say two different operations led to the five arrests in which all suspects had methamphetamine in their possession at the time of arrest.
According to reports, Angela Juarez, 43, sold undercover detectives meth which led to warrants being issued for her arrest. Deputies arrested Juarez Wednesday at her home where they also found a container with 3oz of meth inside. Juarez is charged with one felony count each of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule II, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Manufacture, and Maintaining a Dwelling for a Controlled Substance.
During a second operation deputies say they went to a home on N. Grove Street where a wanted suspect was believed to be. Detectives obtained warrants for the location after observing meth, pills, and other drug related items in plain site when the homeowner allowed deputies to search.
Officials say when the detectives returned to serve the warrants three other suspects came to the home at different times. One suspect, Jimmie Ward, Jr. of Cherryville, was recognized as a convicted felon carrying a 9mm gun, and also in possession of more than a half an ounce of meth. Another later arrived with over an ounce of meth in his vehicle. Then a third came, but speed off when noticing deputies where at the home. Deputies caught up with that suspect and seized meth and drug paraphernalia from the driver.
Ward was arrested and charged with one felony count each of Felon Possessing a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II. He was also charged with one misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and two counts of Failure to Appear.
Leslie Shuford, 31, of Lincolnton, was arrested and charged with one felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II and one misdemeanor count each of Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule IV and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Logan Heafner, 26, of Crouse, was charged with one felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II and one misdemeanor count each of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Jimmie Beard, 47, of Lincolnton, was charged with one felony count of Trafficking Methamphetamine.
