CMPD Arrest Suspect In Recent Armed Robberies

UPDATE: Police have arrested 17-year-old Joshua Nathan Koiyan for his involvement in these armed robberies.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are looking for a suspect accused of committing a string of six armed robberies since October 4th.

According to investigators, on Tuesday, October 4th around 10:04am and again on Wednesday, October 12th around 1:45pm a male suspect robbed the MMYT Food Mart on Shamrock Drive at gunpoint. Other robberies committed in a similar manner on October 12th include the Boost Mobile in the Plaza around 5:14pm, The Plaza and Milton Food Mart around 9:27pm, and the Run-In Convenience Store on Milton Road around 9:28pm.

The latest robbery occurred on Thursday, October 13th around 2:04pm at the EZ Light business at The Plaza. Police say a black male, slim build, around 5’8″, speaking with a West African accent entered and robbed the business at gunpoint.
