Update at 10:39pm: Officials confirm that Dennis Carver was captured in Kings Mountain around 8:20pm Tuesday evening.
According to reports, Carver was performing maintenance outside the prison’s fence when he escaped with the help of his daughter. Officials say Tonya Carver is now facing charges for aiding in her father’s escape.
Dennis Carver will be charged with felony escape from prison.
DALLAS, NC — Officials are looking for an inmate who escaped from Gaston Correctional Center Tuesday.
According to NCDPS officials, Dennis Carver was reported missing during the afternoon count today at the minimum-security facility. Carver was serving a five-year sentence for Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and was scheduled to be released March 2019.
