GASTON COUNTY, NC — Officials say they have arrested the woman accused of stabbing a man to death in his home over the weekend.
Investigators with Gaston County Police and Lowell Police Departments arrested 32-year-old Iva Helms Wednesday and charged her with one count of First Degree Murder.
According to reports, Helms called 911 on October 15th saying she had found 61-year-old James Dellinger dead in his home. Helms told police that Dellinger had been stabbed to death.
Investigators say Helms was a previous roommate of Dellinger’s and had been periodically staying with him recently.
Helms was arrested at her home without incident, according to officials, after an investigation led police to name her as the primary suspect.
