Charlotte Protests Following Shooting Of Keith Scott Cost City Over $4.5M

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The protests that erupted in Charlotte following the shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott cost the city more the $4.5 million.

Officials released a report that shows the total expenses the protests cost the city.  Most of the money was used to pay overtime for police officers and firefighters.  The costs total $4,560,714.82.

The protests in Charlotte started on September 20th, the same day a CMPD officer shot and killed Scott in northeast Charlotte.  The protests turned violent for two days.
