Female Driver Killed In Fatal Accident After Attempting To Strike Pedestrian

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A driver was killed in a fatal accident after they attempted to purposely strike a pedestrian at approximately 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.

Officials say that 26-year-old Ebony Little was driving a 1995 Lexus LS400, when she attempted to strike a pedestrian she knew with her vehicle during an altercation at the 4700 block of Murray Street.

CMPD say Little then fled the area after attempting to strike the pedestrian.

Officers say the pedestrian was not struck by the vehicle.

According to CMPD, Little drove her vehicle inbound on Beatties Ford Road at a high rate of speed and  drove off the right side of the road onto the sidewalk in the 2900 block of Beatties Ford Road.

Officials say that Little over corrected and lost control of the vehicle.

The Lexus crossed the double yellow lane divider into the oncoming traffic lane. The right side of the Lexus struck the front of a Buick Lesabre that was traveling outbound on Beatties Ford Road.

The Lexus rolled over onto its roof off the left side of the road.

The driver of the Buick Lesabre was not seriously injured.

Little was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

Officials say that speed and alcohol use are contributing factors to this incident.

This crash is an ongoing investigation.
