Hit And Run Sends Five To The Hospital, Including Two Toddlers

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are looking for the person responsible for hitting six pedestrians, including two toddlers, Sunday evening in east Charlotte.

The accident happened around 8pm on Dinglewood Avenue at East Sugar Creek Road. According to reports, the victims were out in front of their home when a silver van hit them and fled the scene.

Officials say five of the six victims hit were taken to the hospital. Family members say the mom suffered two broken legs, another victim had a broken foot, and one toddler was taken into surgery Sunday night while the other was sent home after being treated for minor injuries.

At this time police do not have any suspects. Detectives say it was a silver vehicle that struck the victims.
