CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Four teenagers have been arrested for their involvement in a series of armed robberies in southeast Charlotte.
Police say from October 16th to October 26th, 2016, they received four calls for service regarding armed robberies on Pineburr Road.
All of the victims were drivers providing service calls.
On October 16th, a Papa John’s delivery driver was called to an address on Pineburr Road when two male suspects approached him, brandished a firearm, and demanded property. The driver didn’t have property, so they hit him in the face with the weapon, stole the pizzas and fled the scene on foot.
The next night, a Chinese food delivery driver was called to an address on Pineburr Road and was approached by two male suspects with a firearm as he delivered the food. The suspects robbed him at gunpoint and fled the scene on foot.
On Saturday night, a Crown Taxi Cab driver was called to an address on Pineburr Road. After speaking with the person who requested a ride, he noticed someone walking towards the vehicle with a gun and pulling a mask over his face. The driver drove away from the scene and the suspect fled the area.
On Wednesday, a delivery driver from Chopsticks was called to Pineburr Road. As the driver attempted to deliver the food to the address, two male suspects approached and demanded property at gunpoint. The suspects fled on foot after robbing the driver of his property.
Marcus Addison, 18, was discovered to be at the scene by use of Electronic Monitoring Service. Addison was voluntarily interviewed by detectives.
After confirming the identity of the other three suspects, the suspects were located and apprehended without incident.
Addison was charged with one count of Armed Robbery and four counts of Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.
Devonte Carter, 17, was charged with one count of Accessory After the Fact.
Addison and Carter were transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Two of the suspects were 14-years-old. They were charged with two counts of Armed Robbery and related charges, and transported to the Cabarrus County Juvenile Detention Center.
