Arrests Made After Uptown SWAT Standoff

CHARLOTTE, NC– 3 people are in custody after a SWAT standoff in Uptown Charlotte.

The trio barricaded themselves inside an apartment complex on South Graham Street.  Officers say two out of the three suspects were arrested late this afternoon.  The third voluntarily surrendered around 7:30.

One man who was forced out of the complex describes the chaotic scene.

“It was one of the most shocking experiences you don’t expect to look down the hallway and see a bunch of tactical officers and then the other officer came and got me out of there as quickly as he possibly could to make sure everyone was safe.”

We are told the suspects were wanted in connection to armed robbery in the University Division last week.
