SWAT Standoff In Uptown Ends Peacefully

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have three suspects in custody after a SWAT standoff in Uptown Friday afternoon.

According to CMPD, officers went to Circa Apartments on S. Graham Street around 3:22pm to serve warrants on three suspects wanted for armed robbery.

Two suspects were arrested, but a third barricaded himself inside the apartment prompting a standoff with SWAT. Residents of the apartment complex were evacuated as a precaution.

Negotiators were able to talk the male suspect out of the apartment. He surrendered to officers without any further incident. No injuries were reported.

Names of the suspects have not yet been released. The investigation is ongoing.
