CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD has identified the man who was shot and killed by a Pizza Hut employee as 28-year-old Michael Grace.
Two other robbers that were with Grace during the robbery are still at large.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD is still on scene conducting a Robbery/Death Investigation at a Pizza Hut on 3215 Freedom Drive.
Officers say they responded to a report of an individual who was shot inside the Pizza Hut shortly before 1:40 am Sunday morning.
Police say the Pizza Hut was closed and no customers were inside during the incident.
Officers say three individuals entered into the Pizza Hut and were in the process of robbing the business when one of the employees fired his own personal handgun at one of the robbery suspects.
Upon arrival officers located a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The male was pronounced dead on scene by Medic.
Police say a handgun was recovered at the scene that was being carried by the robbery suspect at the time he was shot.
The other two robbery suspects fled the scene on foot and have not yet been apprehended.
The investigation is in its early stages. This is an active investigation.
