Toddler Murdered in Shelby Shooting Laid to Rest

CHERRYVILLE, NC – It was an emotional evening for family and friends saying goodbye to a little boy who was an innocent victim.

Dozens gathered for a visitation followed by services at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home in Cherryville Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a memorial continues to grow outside the home where three-year-old Liam Murray was shot and killed Thursday.

Arrest warrants reveal the suspects robbed the house trying to steal marijuana.

During the robbery, Liam and 22-yr-old Miranda Woods were killed. Jerroid Shipp was also shot and is recovering.

Morris Abraham, Mario Wilson, and Aubrey Sucato are charged with robbery and murder.

“Everybody has to live without him. And it’s, it’s just not fair,” says Liam’s grandmother Hope.

She shared memories of Liam at a vigil Saturday night. She says the little boy loved Batman and Spiderman.

They tell me tonight’s celebration of life had a superhero theme.

“He was just so precious. And it’s terrible that he lost his little bitty life and now a mother has to grieve and doesn’t have her son to wake up to every day,” Hope says.
