The report indicates that the three-year-old was found in the woods in Gaston County on August 16, 2016 in a shallow grave. Her body was intact and described as “cool,” but not “cold.” The examiner noted vomit on Jordyn’s nostrils and mouth, as well as multiple contusions (bruises) to her abdomen, arms and legs. The report notes “fixed lividity” on her back, which is a term used to describe changes in the body after death.
The Medical Examiner’s summary notes that Jordyn was wrapped in a fitted black sheet and found lying on her right side in a hole beneath several broken tree limbs and dry leaves.
She was fully clothed, in a long-sleeve white shirt with the words “Best Big Sister,” blue jean shorts, panties and socks.
Additional documents from the Mecklenburg County ME Office lists Jordyn’s cause of death as “blunt force injuries due to assault.”
It specifically details multiple abdominal injuries.
