Trump Rallies Last Minute Voters In Concord

CONCORD, NC– “In 5 days we’re going to win the great state of North Carolina and we are going to win back the White House,” said Republican Presidential candidates, Donald Trump.

Trump supporters at Thursday’s rally in Concord say it’s not just the White House at stake in North Carolina.

“I think it’s a good thing it’s such a crazy Presidential race is going to be connected to all the down ballot races because a lot of people are going to be out and vote and maybe for first time thinking well who are these guys,” said Gastonia Resident, Brandy Snipes.

Specifically, two neck and neck races on the down ballot, Republican Governor Pat McCrory and opponent Democrat Roy Cooper. And the U.S Senate race between Republican Richard Burr and Democrat Deborah Ross.

“Candidates for these other offices are in a precarious position because much of their voting result is not dependant on what they do on their campaign,” said UNC Charlotte Political Science Professor, Eric Heberlig.

Which is why the Mecklenburg County Republican and Democratic parties say getting voters out is crucial for the whole ballot.

“We’re looking at electing a Governor who will hold the veto and also down the ticket electing local races to help support that governor and that veto,” said Mecklenburg County Democratic Party Chair, Matt Newton.

“The intensity level is through the roof, and the enthusiasm is through the roof which is what we need to see,” said Mecklenburg County Republican Party Chair, Claire Mahoney.

At the end of Trump’s speech he said he’s confident November 8th is the day Republicans claim victory.

“The whole psychology is going to change, our country is going to start winning again, we’re going to start winning again,” said Trump.
