Man Charged With 3 Counts Of Attempted Murder After Shooting In Gastonia Saturday Afternoon

GASTONIA, N.C. – Officials have charged 30-year-old Pontus Adams with three counts of Attempted Murder after shooting 3 people, including 1 juvenile, at the Quail Woods Apartments in Gastonia.

Police say the shooting occurred in the parking lot of the apartments located on the 1400 block of Quail Woods Rd Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located three victims on scene.

Police say one victim was treated at the scene and released. Two victims were transported to the hospital with serious life threatening injuries.

Officials say Adams tried to flee the scene in a Black Dodge Charger but later crashed. Adams was arrested on the scene of the accident. Adams received minor injuries during the accident.

This shooting is still under investigation.
