ROWAN COUNTY, NC — Officials say the suspect wanted for an October 15th shooting has been arrested on unrelated charges in Florida.
According to reports, 31-year-old Keith Harley of Charlotte shot a 26-year-old male victim, also from Charlotte, multiple times on Old Beatty Ford Road near China Grove. The victim was taken to CMC for treatment, and was later interviewed by investigators.
The victim told detectives that he had ridden with Harley to that spot thinking they were meeting Harley’s friend. When they got out, Harley pulled a gun and shot him five times as he tried to run away.
Detectives say Harley has ties to the “Folk Nation” street gang.
Rowan County deputies and CMPD have been working together on the investigation. Harley had been added to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Most Wanted list and had felony warrants issued on charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Inflicting Serious Injury.
Officials say Harley was arrested in Florida this weekend on unrelated charges and is being held. Once those charges have been complete, deputies say Harley will be brought back to Rowan County to face charges there.
