Registered Sex Offender Arrested For Coaching Mooresville Youth Football Team

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A registered sex offender was arrested Monday, for coaching a youth football team in Mooresville.

According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, Kevin Lamar Concepcion was arrested for violating a statute that prohibits registered sex offenders for volunteering in activities involving children.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s office received and confirmed information regarding Concepcion coaching the Mooresville Hornets Midget Football Team.

Authorities say Concepcion and the football league were made aware that he was not allowed to coach for a team of children under 18.

Concepcion is registered for a 2003 conviction of Misdemeanor Sexual Misconduct in Erie County, New York.  Concepcion registered in Iredell County upon moving there in May of 2015.  He also has convictions for 2nd Degree Possession of a Loaded Weapon in New York in 2005 and for Trafficking in Drugs in Ohio in 2013.
