UNION COUNTY, NC — Deputies say a 2nd Degree Murder Charge has now been filed against a Lancaster, SC woman in the case of an overdose in Union County.
Angela McCorkle, 40, was charged 2nd Degree Murder and the Selling and Delivery of a Schedule II Controlled Substance in connection to the death of Clay Scott, 28, back in February.
McCorkle delivered the drugs to Scott near his Waxhaw home on February 16th, according to reports, then Scott was found the next day by his family, unconscious, and later pronounced dead at CMC-Waxhaw.
An autopsy of Scott’s body showed he died from an overdose of Methadone and Clonazepam.
Officials say McCorkle was arrested Tuesday in Lancaster County and agreed to return to Union County to face charges after waiving her extradition hearing.
