UPDATE: Police have identified the victim in Tuesday’s fatal shooting as Christian Alfredo Soto Mojica, 22.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Police say they have arrested Montdrekus Moore, 23, in connection to an east Charlotte murder Tuesday night.
The incident happened around 11pm on The Plaza near McBride Street. Officials say they were called out for a welfare check and found a man lying in the road with a gunshot wound when they arrived. Medic pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
Moore was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with murder. Investigators say Moore and the victim knew each other, and an argument led to the shooting.
The investigation is still ongoing.
