UPDATE:  A fourth person has died as a result of the wildfires in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

GATLINBURG, T.N. — Officials say three people have died from the wildfires in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  Hundreds of homes and businesses have been destroyed and more than 14,000 people were evacuated after high winds spread the wildfires across the area Monday evening.

Search and rescue crews are going door to door looking for more victims at this time.  However, some areas are not reachable due to downed power lines and tress, according to officials.

The wildfires are still burning in some areas and several structures are still on fire.

Red Cross has set up shelters for many of the residents who have been impacted by the fires. More than 2,000 people stayed in shelters Monday evening.
