A Child Is Dead After Being Struck By Car In Southeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Officials say 30-year-old Dylan Smallwood was backing up his truck in the driveway of 7331 Wallace Lane when the juvenile was struck by the vehicle.

The juvenile was transported to Carolina Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The juvenile was pronounced deceased at CMC due to the injuries he sustained during the crash.

Police say impairment and speed are not factors in this incident.

No charges have been filed at this time.

This case is still under investigation.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The child died at CMC.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —   A  child has been rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car in southeast Charlotte.

Sources say the driver backed over a two-year old, and attempted to transport the child to the hospital before being met by medic on Wallace Lane.  The child was treated for life threatening injuries and then transported to Carolinas Medical Center.

The accident occurred at a residence in the area. Wallace Lane is temporarily closed.
