RALEIGH, NC — Governor-elect Roy Cooper was finally able to celebrate his victory over current Governor Pat McCrory Tuesday night in Raleigh.
Cooper took the stage at The McKimmon Conference and Training Center at N.C. State Tuesday night to thank his supporters, family, and friends for all of their help and support throughout the campaign. He took the opportunity to reach out to all North Carolinians and assure them that he would be a Governor for all. The Governor-elect also assured voters that one of his first priorities would be to repeal House Bill 2.
Governor McCrory finally conceded the election Monday evening following a long, hard fought battle by both campaigns. Following McCrory’s concession, it was announced that he would be meeting with President-elect Donald Trump Wednesday.
Cooper’s inauguration will take place January 7, 2017 making him the 75th Governor of North Carolina.
