CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a woman is facing serious charges after causing a crash that killed her passenger Monday evening.
Investigators say Maegan McTaggart was driving drunk when she made a sudden lane change on North Tryon Street and crashed into the back of a tractor trailer.
McTaggart’s passenger, Maverick Sloan, was killed in the wreck. McTaggart has been charged with felony death by motor vehicle, driving while impaired, reckless driving, open container violation and driver’s license BAC .04 restriction.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
