Anonymous Couple Brings Christmas Miracle To Gaston County Kids

GASTONIA, NC — $30,000 worth of toys will be going to the children of families who could not afford them in Gaston County thanks to a local couple.Donation

According to a release from the Gaston County Department of Health & Human Services, the couple went to a local Walmart on Friday and made the purchase. They requested that they also remain anonymous.

DHHS officials say the toys will be loaded up on December 12th, and police will escort the tractor trailer to the Gaston DHHS’s Social Services office where the toys will be distributed to low-income families.

“This truly is a Christmas miracle,” said Angi Karchmer, Social Services Division Director for Gaston DHHS. “Every day we see families who are struggling to make ends meet and we know that many of these families will not have the means to provide Christmas gifts for their children. It’s heartbreaking. But now hundreds of local children will have something special to open on Christmas morning. It’s an absolute blessing.”

Officials say they hope the couple, who sought no recognition, will inspire others to give back this holiday season.
