UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities say a Union County school employee has been arrested for sending inappropriate Snapchat pictures to a student.
Investigators arrested Jeffery Long, 31, of Monroe on Thursday. Long was a computer lab monitor at Piedmont High School.
Detectives say school officials were informed that Long and a student were possibly exchanging inappropriate photos via the social media network, Snapchat.
Officials were able to confirm that Long had exchanged photos with the student and had inappropriate physical contact with the student as well, according to a news release.
Long has been charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a minor and disseminating harmful material to a minor.
Long was released from the Union County Jail but the investigation is ongoing, according to detectives.
Long was terminated from his employment with Union County Public Schools.
