Two Men Arrested In Connection With Local Pharmacy Robberies

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Detectives have charged two men in connection with a string of local pharmacy armed robberies.

Police say, 34-year-old, Javonne M. Carter and, 22-year-old, Jamir Montegut are responsible for six armed robberies from businesses over a the pst month.

  • On December 7, 2016, the suspects committed an armed robbery of the CVS, located at 8420 Steele Creek Road.
  • ย On Thursday, December 01, 2016, atย 6:38 p.m., the suspect entered the A2Z Health Mart Pharmacy, located at 1408 Archdale Drive, in the Westover Division.ย  The suspect brandished a firearm and demanded property.ย  The victims were able to flee from the scene before the suspect received any property.ย  The suspect then left the business on foot.

  • Approximatelyย two hours later, the same suspect entered the Star Bright Pharmacy, located at 231 Mr. Holly-Huntersville Road.ย  The suspect brandished a firearm and demanded property from the employees of the business.ย  After receiving the property the suspect fled the scene on foot.

  • On November 23, 2016, the suspects committed an armed robbery of the Dilworth Drug and Wellness Center, located at 1300 East Boulevard (see report number 20161123-1859-02).
  • On November 15, 2016, the suspects committed an armed robbery of the Kaitlynโ€™s Pharmacy, located at 9100 S. Tryon Street (see report number 20161115-1838-04).
  • On November 8, 2016, the suspects committed an armed robbery of the Family Care, located at 10227 University City Boulevard (see report number 20161108-1845-00).

Authorities say the men were located and taken into custody without incident.

Carter and Montegut have both been charged with 6 counts of Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, 6 counts of Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, and Possession of Firearm by Felon.
