CMPD Investigating Double Homicide In North Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police say two people are dead and two people were injured in a north Charlotte shooting Thursday night.

According to reports, the shooting happened around 7:17pm on Spring Garden Lane. When officers arrived they found three people with gunshot wounds. One of those victims was pronounced dead on the scene, and the two others were taken by Medic to CMC. One of the two taken by Medic was then later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say a fourth victim was also located on W. Sugar Creek Road near I-85 with a gunshot wound. That victim was also transported by Medic to CMC.

At this time investigators say the victims and suspect were known to each other, and are not looking for any other suspects.

Medic says two other people were also shot on Michelle Linnea Drive within minutes of the Spring Garden Lane shootings. Those victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, but officials have not said whether those shootings were related.
