CHARLOTTE, NC — UPDATE: At 12:45 p.m., ACC officials say the owner has been located.

Charlotte Animal Care & Control is looking for the owner of three stray horses that were found at a retirement center in south Charlotte.

ACC officials says they received a large animal call on Providence Road at the Waltonwood Providence Retirement Center around 8:26 p.m. on Wednesday. Several attempts were made by law enforcement to locate the owners, but officials say they were unsuccesful.

The horses were found in close proximity to Hemby Road in Union County.
