Three Arrested after Robbery & Shooting in Plaza Midwood

CHARLOTTE, NC – Police have made three arrests after the latest violent crime in Plaza Midwood. A couple was robbed and shot outside a popular shopping center.

Antonio Worthy, Jamall Glenn, and Ebonee Ward are accused of armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Investigators say one of them robbed and then shot a couple in the shopping center on Central Avenue around 11:00 Saturday night.

Police say after the robbery, the shooter jumped into a car with the other two suspects and drove off.

Two off duty officers heard the shots and came to help. One of the officers gave chase until the suspects car crashed near Novant Presbyterian Hospital.

Just over a week ago, WCCB Charlotte reported police were stepping up patrols.

Two women were robbed at gunpoint December 6th after leaving Snug Harbor.

And no suspects have been named in the murder of Ketie Jones.

The 26-year-old woman was killed behind a real estate business on Hamorton Place walking home October 15th.

Jones worked at Midwood Smokehouse, just across the street from where Saturday night’s robbery and shooting happened.
