York County, S.C. – On December 17th at approximately 11:04 pm, officers were dispatched to a shooting incident in the 200 block of Mighty Joe Trail, in the Green Acres subdivision, after being notified that one person had been shot in the head.
Upon arrival, officers located an 18 year old male victim lying partially in the road and partially in a driveway bleeding from his head.
As the first responding officer rendered first aid, other responding officers located the victim’s car at the end of the street where it was resting against a telephone pole still running with a bullet hole in the windshield.
Emergency Medical Service (EMS), detectives, and a York County Forensic Services Investigator were contacted to respond.
EMS transported the victim to PMC in Rock Hill where he was listed in good condition. Detectives canvassed the area and interviewed witnesses and the victim’s car was impounded for processing.
Numerous shell casings were retrieved from Singletary Lane, which was the direction the victim was driving when he was shot. After being shot, the victim exited his vehicle while still in motion and ran back towards a residence where he had been prior to the shooting and collapsed in the driveway.
