Charlotte Police Connect Suspect to Multiple Armed Robberies

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Armed Robbery Unit have charged Davonte Faison for his involvement in the armed robbery of a Family Dollar on November 30 and the robbery of a Fuel Mart on December 18 at 5035 N. Tryon Street.

Based on information and evidence gathered during the investigation, detectives identified Faison as one of the suspects in the Family Dollar case and requested assistance from the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team in locating him.  On December 19, 2016, detectives from the VCAT located and arrested Faison without incident.  Faison was then transported to CMPD Headquarters where he was interviewed by detectives.

At the conclusion of the interview, Faison was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery and transported to the Mecklenburg County Jail.

Earlier on December 20th, Armed Robbery Unit detectives determined that Faison was one of the suspects who was responsible for the Fuel Mart robbery and signed an additional warrant for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and served Faison the warrant at the Mecklenburg County Jail, according to a news release. Rob2

Detectives are continuing to ask for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in the photograph, who is described as a black male, approximately 6’3” in height, with a medium build and some facial hair.  He was last seen wearing a plaid jacket, dark pants and black shoes.
