CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In a press release Wednesday, Southern Shows Inc. announced the sale of six of the 18 shows the company produces to Ohio’s Marketplace Events.
The sale includes The Southern Christmas Show Charlotte, which is one of the largest in the United States. The Spring Home and Garden Show Charlotte, The Southern Ideal Home Shows in Charlotte and Greensboro, and the spring and fall editions in Raleigh were also part of the deal.
According to co-owner Joan Zimmerman, Southern Shows Inc. will manage the next three shows on behalf of Marketplace events, to facilitate the transition.
Southern Shows Inc. was founded by Joan Zimmerman and her husband Robert in 1961.
The company will continue to produce the Southern Farm Show and the 11- show Women’s Show events.
