City Declares The CLT New Year’s Eve 2016 Celebration An Extraordinary Event

CHARLOTTE, NC — With thousands of people expected to attend New Year’s Eve celebrations throughout Uptown, City Manager Marcus D. Jones has declared the CLT New Year’s Eve 2016 celebration an extraordinary event.

City officials say the declaration will include celebrations being held at Romare Bearden Park, the NASCAR Hall of Fame Plaza, and other nearby venues.

The City also announced that City of Charlotte offices and CharMeck 311 will be closed on Monday, January 2nd. Officials say to call 911 for any emergencies.

CATS will operate on a modified schedule during the New Year’s weekend:

Saturday, Dec. 31

CATS buses, trains and streetcar will operate according to their Saturday schedules.

Sunday, Jan. 1, and Monday, Jan. 2

CATS will operate buses, trains and the streetcar on a Sunday schedule.
